Clarice Cliff Ravel Pattern Conical Soup Cup and Saucer
This is a large two-handed conical cup measuring 10 cm in diameter by 7.2 cm high, and a 17 cm diameter saucer with a clear impressed mark for November 1934.
The striking hand-painted pattern is known as "Ravel" and these items display really well.
Both pieces are in good condition for their age but they have some minor faults.
The cup has a minute "nibble" at the base and there are three tiny marks inside which look like smudges of green paint.
The underside of the saucer rim has what looks like a small chip but on closer inspection, I think this is an area where something touched the wet glaze before it was fired. There is also a mark inside the orange rectangle. This looks like it is under the glaze and it may just be a smudge of black paint from the band.
I can only send the soup cup and saucer to a U.K. address.
