Clarice Cliff Trieste Shape Cup, Saucer and Plate
This unusual trio is hand-painted in a rather restrained but very effective design of leaves.
Trieste ware was normally supplied with standard conical cups but the handle shape of this cup suggests that this was a new design specific to this ware.
The saucer and plate have clear impressed marks for 1935.
Although the glaze is a little rough around the lip of the cup (as manufactured), I can find no actual chips, cracks or restoration on the pieces.
A nice example which displays well.
