Boxford Model C Metalworking Lathe on Makers Stand
This lathe could certainly do with a repaint to smarten it up but it is in good mechanical condition and is capable of good quality work.
It is an Imperial machine and is fitted with a single-phase "Flameproof" motor (ex. petrol pump) so there is no problem with swarf getting into it and it plugs straight in to a 13A 240v socket.
It comes with a 3-Jaw chuck, Tailstock chuck, 4-way tool post, catchplate and a full set of change wheels to cut imperial threads.
This machine has been in use in my home workshop for around 40 years and has been well looked after. I am only selling it now because I have upgraded to another model.
To help you decide if this will fit the space space you have available, the chip tray is 46.5 inches long and the front of the chip tray stands 24 inches out from a wall when the large belt pulley is just clear.
The machine is located near Gatwick Airport and the buyer will have to collect and load. I am happy to help by moving it to a position with easy vehicle access and by unbolting the lathe from the stand if necessary. (It will need 3-4 people to load it into a van). Cash payment on collection is preferred.
