5" Gauge Boxhill Chassis and Drawing Set (L.B.S.C.R Terrier 0-6-0)
I acquired this chassis a few years ago but I now have too many projects so have decided to pass it on.
It seems to be the work of a reasonably competent amateur but it is far from being to "exhibition standard." If I were taking this project on I would start by stripping everything down and checking all dimensions to the drawings. I would then do any remedial work found to be necessary and attempt to improve the external finish of individual parts including a complete repaint. A lot of the work has already been done and it would not take much more to bring this up to a position where it could be tested on air.
But look carefully at the pictures because what you see is what you get. (I note that the front cylinder covers and the eccentric rods and straps are missing, possibly other parts).
You will also get a full set of 8 large drawings which are recent unused copies, but I have not shown these in the pictures.
I checked the new prices for unmachined castings from Reeves and the hornblocks, axelboxes, wheels and cylinder set total £435.67 inc VAT.
The drawings would cost £51.47 from Reeves. Look how much more you get with this chassis.
