Model Steam Beam Engine - Half-Size Westbury Vulcan
This is a most unusual model as it is the Vulcan design by Edgar Westbury published in "Model Engineer" magazine but it is built to half the published size. The flywheel diameter is just 4.25" (10.8cm). All the parts that would have been castings seem to have been fabricated using a mixture of brass and steel.
Apart from a good clean up after many years of storage, some other work is still needed to complete it and I will supply photocopies of the original plans which you can work from. Look very carefully at the photographs to see what is still to be done.
This would be a most unusual and interesting project.
