Stunning Clarice Cliff Cake Stand - Blue Chintz Pattern
This item consists of two octagonal plates measuring 23 cm across. The plates have original centre holes and are joined by metal fittings to form a 2-tier cake stand.
It is well known that the blue colour used by Newport Pottery did not wear very well and was easily damaged. This was the case with these plates so I had the outer dark blue bands of both repainted.
There is a short scratch in the green band of one and the metal fittings are modern replacements in stainless steel.
The restoration has resulted in a really stunning display item.
I can only send the cake stand to a U.K. address.
Royal Mail will not insure fragile items against damage in transit, so great care will be taken to pack items securely.
