Antique Mahogany Case Grandfather Clock Spares / Repair (With Dial and Movement)

Norton Nut's Antique Mahogany Case Grandfather Clock Spares / Repair (With Dial and Movement)
This clock is a restoration project for someone who would like to practice their skills on both the case and the dial/movement. Alternatively, it could just be considered as a source of spare parts.

I believe that the case and dial have always belonged together. On the back of the case is written faintly in pencil "Mr Edwards clock and watchmaker, ____lleymead(?), Newport." I cannot decipher the place name on the dial, perhaps a village near Newport, but the name Edwards is clear.

The quality of the case was much better than average, especially for a 30 hour painted dial clock, but as you can see from the photographs, there is a great deal of work to do to restore it.

The movement seems to be complete but you will see that the date dial, the hour wheel and the hands are detached. I do not have the pendulum, weight or chain.

The case stands 81 1/2" high to the small platform in the centre of the hood. The base is 18 3/4" wide by 9 1/2" deep(measured at the feet). The dial is 12" wide by 17" high.

This clock is located near Gatwick Airport and it must be collected. If you wish to view it before bidding then please email me to arrange this.
