Very Old Cuckoo Clock - Antique - Restoration Project
This wonderful old clock is in need of full restoration but it is well worth saving. Its main case "box" measures 27 cm from base to roof apex and 17 cm wide. The width over the carved decoration is about 26 cm.
The movement has wooden frames and heavy brass wheels quite unlike the more modern stamped brass sheet construction of later clocks. I think this one must be at least 100 years old. Even the cuckoo's wings move.
The clock movement seems to be complete but it is very dirty.
The basic case is sound but the carved decoration needs some work - as you can see one large piece need to be reattached and there are several minor bits of damage. The carved decoration which fits on the roof is missing but replacements are available from specialist dealers, as also is the material that will be needed to repair the bellows.
The minute hand and some of the numerals are also missing.
Sorry about the postage cost but remember that the weights alone weigh 1.3 kg each.
