Amal R.N. Racing Carburettor
This is not complete but what you see is what you get. The number stamped on the body is not very clear but I think it is T115RN. The air slide chamber is stamped 1" and underneath is stamped the letters CE with the number 47 (perhaps 1947?). The material of the body is aluminium. The mounting holes are 2" pitch and the slide is a number 5.
I don't know what it was fitted to but it would probably be just the thing for your racing 250 or maybe as one of 2 carbs. on a 500 twin.
